This could be simply a mistake. However the asymmetry of mystical theology is more likely to issue in texts being in movement, back and forth, so that there is, in mystical thought, no useful difference between God giving gifts to people and people giving gifts to God, from whom those gifts - and people - came.
This a circle dance of ideas and is an important insight into how mystical theology honours the text by living in it, giving it 3 dimensions, rather that simply observing it as a proposition or an imperative, which always reduces the text to 2 dimensions.
