Apophatic theology literally means "to speak away from" in other words to deny. It is affirming the negative. The reason we pray is not to know God, certainly not to know that we are with God. But simply to be in God, en Christo. There is nothing to say, nothing to describe. It is leap into mystery (Clément).

Kataphatic theology is literally "speaking toward". It affirms what we know. It is how most of us approach God for most of our lives. We shall finally need to abandon kataphatic theology and learn the fulfilling 'nothing' of the apophatic. qv

Theosis is the work of grace by which we more and more are committed to Participation in the living of God, expressing more fully our Union with Christ and become what we are .. full of the fulness of God which is also called divinization. The letter to the Ephesians refers to this as being en Christo.
Literally " with one voice". The mystical way leads to a holiness in which we apprehend the oneness of things. Thus, despite our deafness, we come to hear all things together speaking, declaring, with one voice, the glory of God.
